Forma3D – Plásticos e Montagens, Lda, is a manufacturing company, specialized in molding plastics using the vacuum thermoforming process.
With over 10 years of experience, Forma 3D assumes itself as a reference at a national level whenever customers look for plastic thermoforming solutions.
Created in 2006, the company’s policy is “to permanently seek to satisfy customer needs” and to be, more than a supplier, a long-term strategic partner. This way of approaching the market, allows stable and lasting relationships where the in-depth knowledge of the working methods and customer needs lead to the creation of personalized project rules.
Forma 3D transforms almost all types of thermoplastics from plate or roll, with molding dimensions up to 2200x1200x650mm and thicknesses up to 10mm.
Forma3D is part of the AF Azevedos metalworking group, which guarantees support in the construction of molds and tools, as well as the possibility of complementing projects with metal components and assemblies.
Forma 3D has recently enhanced CNC cutting with the acquisition of a second 5-axis cutting center.
These ten years of experience demonstrate that it is possible to use the plastic thermoforming technique for the most varied purposes. Today, in addition to its strong presence in the logistics market, especially in the automotive area, it is also present in the transport, refrigeration, lighting, decoration sector and, more recently, the wine sector, which are part of Forma 3D’s portfolio of areas of operation, which, increasingly, intends to be present in all types of markets, nationally and internationally.
The company is also working on fiberglass replacement, in electric microcars, with thermoformed components.
At a time when specialized labor seems to be scarce, Forma 3D has sought to bring its technique to schools. Forma 3D has already worked in partnership with the Instituto Politécnico do Cávado and together with CEIIA, has actively participated in the construction of an electric mini-car.
At the end of 2017, Forma 3D obtained the accreditation of its quality system ISO 9001-2015, under the certificate with No. SGQ – 123/2017.
